Complete Villa Renovation
Architectural Redesign & Interior Concept

This project involved the full-scale renovation of an older villa in Elviria, Marbella — a home with extraordinary potential thanks to its beautiful sea and golf course views, yet originally designed with a closed, dark floor plan. Our aim was to completely rethink the internal layout to bring in light, flow, and the surrounding landscape.

We opened up the kitchen entirely and removed the surrounding walls to create a spacious, open-plan design. A custom half-wall with a double-sided fireplace was added to subtly define the kitchen and living area while maintaining visual and spatial continuity throughout.

Every piece of furniture in this home was designed, tailored, and built to order specifically for this space. Each item was customized based on precise measurements and spatial planning, ensuring functionality, balance, and seamless integration with the architecture and flow of the interiors.

The staircase was visually lightened, using full-height vertical wooden slats for a sculptural, architectural effect. While the original Andalusian roof was preserved and carefully restored, the rest of the home was reimagined with contemporary finishes and refined natural materials.

Upstairs, a spacious new master suite was created. We demolished old walk-in closets and restructured the space to include an open-plan bathroom with a freestanding bathtub positioned beside a large window, framing a stunning sea view. A separate shower was tucked behind a discreet divider for privacy.

For the bathroom countertops and fireplace base, we used high-quality Italian travertine stone — richly veined and naturally textured — to convey depth, warmth, and organic beauty.

At the entrance, we designed a cactus garden with native southern Spanish species, providing natural screening for the full-height kitchen window that we had opened. This garden not only brings soft light into the kitchen but also adds a dramatic, living backdrop that connects indoors and outdoors.

One of the villa’s original features — a striking 6-meter circular window — was preserved and structurally refined by removing a partial ceiling that had previously split its height. This window opens onto a restored Moroccan-style patio with a raised green-tiled fountain. The soft sound of water flows through the living space and even into one of the downstairs bedrooms through a partially open dividing wall, adding a sense of serenity and depth.

The final styling incorporated warm, earthy tones and modern furniture — clean yet never cold — to create a home that feels both contemporary and soulful.

This renovation is a comprehensive example of thoughtful design where architecture, materials, and emotional atmosphere all work together to bring a new identity to a once-forgotten home.
